For these series of blog posts will be reading ‘Five Feet Apart’ by Rachel Lippincott. My first week reading has been very interesting. The reason I chose to read this book was because I saw the movie and loved it and usually I always read the book about the movies I watch. So far I do still believe that the movie is better so far but I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. This week I started my book off with Stella’s chapter. Just in the first few lines Stella expresses how she would trace pictures of her sisters perfect lungs. Her sister and her were fairly close with each other because they would go on ‘adventures’ so Stella says. While writing this portion of the book the authors tone was sad or full of pitty because Stella was talking about a hard topic and not spending that much time with her sister anymore. The author shows that she is sad though her choice of diction and by explaining the back story.
